1/6
The Old Town is a bustling tourist center
The oldest urban center of Warsaw, which is a compact complex of historic architecture, mostly from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with a medieval layout of buildings, surrounded by a ring of defensive walls from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century.
This is where the Royal Castle is located. On Castle Square stands the column of King Sigismund III Vasa, who in the 16th century moved the capital of Poland from Cracow to Warsaw. It's the oldest and the highest secular monument of the capital. The Old Town Square is the oldest and one of the most charming squares in Warsaw. In the middle of the square stands a statue of the Warsaw Mermaid, the emblem and guardian of the city.
