Synagoga Stara

Restored 15th century synagogue housing the Museum of Culture and History of the Jews of Cracow

The synagogue was probably built by Czech Jews. According to various sources, there are usually two dates of construction, i.e. 1407 or 1492. The synagogue belonged to the medieval, typically Gothic, two-nave synagogues, of which only three were known in Europe: in Worms, Ratzybon and Prague.
Today, the Old Synagogue is a branch of the Krakow Museum and houses an extremely rich collection, including unique monuments of Jewish history and culture
